Online Texas Hold’em Poker Investigation Story will air on CBS’ 60 Minutes

This Sunday evening the CBS network will show their special investigation show “How Online Gamblers Unmasked Cheaters”. This special investigation show was made after a 16-week inquiry into the online Texas Hold’em poker business and particularly a con with the online poker site Absolute Poker.

This Texas Hold’em page was inspected after a few of the Texas Hold’em players on the webpage stated that a poker player was illegally winning an incredible amount of poker chips. Todd Witteles was a major player in this study, according to Witteles; he was losing great amounts of poker chips to the exact same poker player. Witteles claimed that this man was raising against very good cards, most people would have presumed he was basically handing over his money, but he was actually winning quite often.

Witteles was in the right with his suppositions, later on it was shown that someone on the inside was able to watch any player’s poker hole cards. At first look, Absolute Poker proclaimed that there were no problems with the website or the Texas Hold’em player. After many more players showed up with allegations, the Texas Hold’em site examined deeper into the situation and uncovered the scam.

Around January of 2008, the gaming commission discovered what the poker players and the Texas Hold’em poker room had supposed all the time. The result of the investigation was that, there was a staff member who had invaded the Texas Hold’em poker webpage’s protection and was competing illegitimately for more or less six weeks. The research verified that the Texas Hold’em webpage had not benefited from the unlawful behavior in any way, and was not implicated.

These scams are further evidence that there must be more guidelines regarding Texas Hold’em poker websites. The U.S. government should authorize and regulate the internet Texas Hold’em poker business to protect these honest clients. These guidelines would also control the entry to these sites by young children, which is becoming another issue nowadays.

The audience will be able to play along with the 90 minute game thanks to handheld, wireless, touch screen devices located on each seat.

“People who take a vacation in Las Vegas, Nevada want to play poker games,” Negreanu says, “but obviously they can’t play in a big game with the players such as Doyle or Phil Hellmuth. But, in this show, they actually can.” When the show begins, six audience members will be chosen to sit at the poker table on stage with two professional players. Each audience member is then involved in the action by being dealt a unique poker hand on their devices. Everyone in the showroom is then involved in the action with big-screen monitors located on stage.

The show’s producers say that you don’t have to be a pro poker player to participate in the poker game. There are other ways to build your point total, that doesn’t involve playing poker necessarily. Betting on the suit of the next poker card or trying to guess which state a particular audience member is from, are just some of the ways to come out a winner in this game.

The show’s creators are also betting on the great personalities of the professional players to have great moments. Poker players like Scotty Nguyen, the flamboyant five-time winner of the World Series of Poker, definitely knows how to entertain the audience and is a sure bet for some great TV moments in this TV poker game show .

The age of the poker dealer is coming to a close

Posted under casino poker & poker & poker celebrities & poker players & poker tactics

Can you imagine walking into a famous Sin City casino and seeing no poker dealers, chips, or poker cards? Well if this seems difficult to believe, you may be in for a big shock. The Sin City based hotel Excalibur is now trying out with this new radical idea of automating everything from the dealers, to the actual poker tables. Executives from the casino hotel are going to equip the poker rooms with 12 digital machines for a six-month trial period.
The North-Carolina based business PokerTek is in charge of the automated machines, which are reinventing the way poker will be played in Las Vegas, Nevada. The enterprise already has 230 computers around the world, with the biggest located in Casino du Montreal (a total of 25 computers were installed in this Canadian casino).
So what are the side-effects of this makeover? For starters, about 40 Excalibur poker dealers will be searching for new jobs. Some of these dealers have been functioning at the casino since its opening in 1990. Todd DeRemer, Excalibur’s Vice President of Casino Operations, says that the poker dealers will be offered other dealer careers in the same casino hotel.
According to DeRemer, the makeover is being made to give rookie players a chance to play this popular game without feeling intimidated. He had already played these new machines before deciding upon the renovation. “It’s not overwhelming”, he says, “We think that portion will bring back the gamblers”.
The improved computers will allow the poker players to play Texas hold’em, seven card stud and Omaha. 40-inch flat screen televisions, which are located in the center of the table, will display each table’s community cards, gambler’s stakes and the pot.

Important decisions in rakeback

Posted under poker & poker games & poker players & poker strategy & poker tactics & texas holdem

If I told you every important decision in poker was actually an easy decision would you believe me? Probably not, but if you believe in your inner self and have inner balance and control then you can hear and listen to your gut feeling and follow through with your gut feeling. Your gut feeling or intuition can be your best friend if you know it is right in it, trust it and listen to it. Your inner self is that first feeling you get, the majority of people never believe or trust in there gut feeling and dismiss the feeling as just a thought and then think more and end up with no real confident answer or decision.
Everyone knows that one guy that seems to just seems to float through life and always gets so lucky, well that guy probably listens to his inner self. He’s probably laid back, never really worried or never panics just always seems so sure.
Your inner self isn’t the solution to all your problems and your gut feeling isn’t always right, just because your gut feeling isn’t always right it’s not correct to stop listening to it, you need to understand that your gut feeling is the best tool that will help your more times then not, so listen to it unconditionally.

You have most likely heard the miracle stories about dogs sensing stuff before it happens, or animals acting weird or behaving weird before major events happen. This is because animals rely on inner self, they trust and rely on instinct for survival. They don’t have time to thoroughly think things through or contemplate, they feel there gut trust it and react on it.

This is not to say that you shouldn’t think about decisions or problems and should just do what your first inner self is, because evaluation is an important and critical part of the decision making process. Going over all the variables presented to you to come up with a conclusion. So evaluation is important and should be done, but you should be able to feel your first natural instinct and let it play a major role in your decision making process. You should give your gut feeling the best value on the list of variables that you consider when making a decision.

For the majority of people they will never be able to tap into there inner self or will never be able to know when they hear it or feel it, this is because in order to hear and listen your gut feeling you need to have balance in your mind and body, you need to have emotional control over yourself, you need to be in touch with your feelings. Everyone has instinct and gut feeling so if you don’t know what your gut feeling is it’s probably because your mind is clouded and cannot clearly identify when your gut feeling kicks in and talks to you.

Being able to hear and listen to your gut feeling can become a very powerful tool in your poker playing, you have to listen to your gut though, the first instinct or thought you have is usually always the correct decision. Your mind is a powerful database more powerful then any computer and has a hard drive that stores every hand you play, every bet that people make, every situation that happens. So your gut feeling is usually what the mind feels based on your database of similar Hold’em poker situations.

So practice listening to your self, identify when your gut tells you something and believe in it and use it in life, use it on the Texas Hold’em tables. Hopefully this will help you improve your Hold’em game and make you a better player.

Stepping up to the 2008 World Series of Poker Tournament

Posted under casino poker & online poker & poker & poker games & poker players & poker tournament

There are a tremendous amount of individuals already focused on competing at the 2008 World Series of poker tournament in Las Vegas. These players have already begun to practice and hone their abilities to the highest possible level of skill in order to reasonably compete against the high level of competition that will be present at the 2008 World Series of poker tournament. Naturally, everyone who intends to make this journey to the Vegas area is determined to win and consider themselves to have a shot at the bracelet at the final table. With all of these individuals so determined to win, it can be extraordinarily difficult for any one player to claim victory predictably. Because of the existing level of overwhelming competition, the player is generally required to make all sorts of concessions and make the most of their abilities, putting forth an extreme effort to compete against these extremely skilled players. When competing against the level of experienced players at the World Series of poker tournament, nothing but the most experienced players will be able to make it to the final event.

For those players who are not already planning their strategy for the 2008 World Series of poker tournament in Las Vegas, many simply do not have the skill or funds to finance such an extraordinarily expensive trip. But for those players who are talented and skilled enough, competing in the 2008 World Series of poker tournament in Las Vegas is a critical matter that stands head and shoulders above any other mediocre tournament that the player might have competed in in the past. The level of professional players at the World Series of poker tournament is far higher than that found in the run-of-the-mill online poker rooms or at the local casinos that many players have built their skills at through endless years of practice. Competing against these types of extraordinarily skilled players can be nearly impossible without taking the time to build up the player’s ability to a sufficiently competitive level suitable enough to take on this type of challenge.

By taking the time to build the player’s skill level to an extraordinary level, the professional level poker tournament player can theoretically succeed at the World Series of poker tournament in Las Vegas. But it is interesting to note that there are only a few winners out of the many thousands upon thousands of individuals who make the journey to the Las Vegas World Series of poker tournament on an annual basis, raising the odds to extraordinarily low high level for the inexperienced player.

Online Poker Rooms Continue to Be Scrutinized by the United States Government

Posted under casino poker & fulltiltpoker.com & online poker & poker & poker players

With the extraordinarily concerted effort by the United States government to crack down on the online poker rooms and casinos that are so prevalent on the Internet such as Fulltiltpoker.com, it seems strange to think that only a few years ago online poker rooms and casinos operated with autonomy. After releasing all manner of different types of legislation that prohibits players from funding their bankrolls through American banking institutions as well as dictating how much and how little online poker rooms and casinos can dole out in the manner of residual income sharing programs, the United States government has continued to look into ways to restrict players abilities to generate income through these types of Internet-based poker rooms. One method of restricting players ability to earn is the 2% tax on the player’s bankroll that has been proposed and looks as if it may pass. With the concept of billing the player by their available funds, rather than what they actually win, the United States government is being un-believably harsh, as many players simply do not win on a regular basis, making the level of taxation highly unfair for those types of players. While on the other hand, many players win far beyond the expectations of even the United States government, which tends to expect a lot, making for another unfair case of taxation, although this time in the favor of the gamer.

With all of these extremely difficult to comprehend rules and aggressive criminalization of online poker rooms and casinos, it seems very obvious that the government has little concern for the needs of the player and is only interested in generating revenue for the legislators and lawmakers that all have their hand in the pot. With this famously draconian policy against online poker rooms and casinos, the United States government leaves little doubt that there is no room for free enterprise and the American way on the Internet. Fortunately, there are no end of lawyers and even judges who have come down against the almost brutal ruling by the United States government to tax online poker rooms and casinos out of existence in America. While it is already considered to be strange enough that the government has eliminated any possibility of United States citizens from sharing in the profits that these online poker rooms and casinos generate, it would seem that this is not enough and another, additional step is required, forcing players out of the online poker rooms and online casinos altogether.

The European poker tour.

Posted under poker & poker celebrities & poker games & poker players & poker tournament & texas holdem

The European poker tour has drawn so much attention from around the world with the tremendous level of competitors from the international community who are looking to duke it out over the European poker tour tournament tables in locations around the world. With the focus on bringing in players from all over, the European poker tour has been extremely successful at drawing some truly big-name players and has even benefited from the presence of World Series of poker tournament in Las Vegas winner, Phil Hellmuth. While these types of big names do much for the advertising and publicity level that these types of events receive, it is the last thing that their competitors wish to see. Knowing that you have to compete with players as talented as Phil Hellmuth has to be the most difficult challenge of all time for any professional level poker tournament player, whether European, American or Martian.

Unfortunately for many international and European players, America produces some of the most aggressive and relentlessly skilled Texas Hold’em poker tournament players in the world, featuring some of the most able gamblers and gamers that the world has ever seen. With this level of competition, European players might have their work cut out for them in attempting to take the final table and earn cash in the Texas Hold’em poker tournament competition. While these poker tournaments tend to draw players from all over the world, it is interesting to know that the most competent and talented players generally come from the Las Vegas area, having been born and bred on gaming and gambling and perfected their skill at the tables at the Las Vegas hotels and casinos that feature so much competition between talented players.

Considering the world level of competition and strength of the players that are competing in the European poker tour, it isn’t hard to believe that there are some of the world’s highest-ranked players and most talented competitors taking it to the limit every day on the European poker tour as well as the rest of the poker tournaments that are conducted throughout the world on a regular basis. With professional level players from all over the world, it only remains to be seen who might take the winning match and what nationality they might be, as the winning nation will certainly have some considerable bragging rights after such an amazing victory.
